Mark Koenig joined Wachtell Lipton in 2000. He practices in the real estate department where he focuses on strategic transactions, including multi-asset purchase and sale and financing transactions, restructurings, joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions of real estate investment trusts. Mr. Koenig has significant experience in the structuring, formation, financing and investment activity of private equity real estate opportunity funds, and in a broad spectrum of corporate real estate activity. Among other major transactions, he has been involved in the redevelopment of the World Trade Center site and in the structuring of a series of private equity funds and co-investments JVs for major sponsors and investors in the United States and abroad.

Mr. Koenig received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Rabbinic and Talmudic Studies from Beth Medrash Govoha in October 1992 and September 1994, respectively. He completed a J.D. from the New York University School of Law in 2000, where he graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the Order of the Coif.

Mr. Koenig is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
