Kathryn Gettles-Atwa is an associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz concentrating on the securities law aspects of finance and restructuring matters. Kathryn focuses on advising private equity firms, their portfolio companies and other corporations with respect to public and private bond offerings, tender offers, ongoing reporting requirements and other issues related to debt securities. She has advised Apollo in high-yield bond offerings and Apollo's portfolio companies on securities laws impacting their public and private debt. Kathryn also has advised on financings for many corporate clients.

Originally from Ohio, Ms. Gettles-Atwa received her B.A. (1994) and M.A. (1997) from New York University in art history. She received her J.D. (2001) from New York University, where she served as Executive Editor of the Journal of Legislation and Public Policy. Ms. Gettles-Atwa is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and The Association of the Bar of the City of New York, as well as the Arab Bankers Association of North America.
