Kenneth B. Forrest has been a partner at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen and Katz since 1982. Focusing primarily on commercial litigation, Mr. Forrest has litigated numerous disputes relating to corporate mergers and acquisitions, including some of the leading decisions in that area of law. He has represented a number of professionals, including lawyers and investment bankers, in litigation and played a leading role in the nationwide effort to obtain judicial approvals for the November 1998 settlement between the states and the tobacco industry. For fifteen years, Mr. Forrest served as the assigning partner in the firm's litigation department.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Forrest graduated from Brooklyn College magna cum laude in 1973 with a bachelor of arts degree in economics, and from the State University at Buffalo Law School magna cum laude in 1976 with a juris doctor degree.
Mr. Forrest has served on a number of professional committees, including the Committee on Federal Legislation and the Committee on Professional Responsibility of the Association of the Bar of New York City. He serves as a member of the Buffalo Law School Dean's Advisory Council, of which he was formerly Chair. He has received Distinguished Alumnus Awards from the University at Buffalo Alumni Association and the Buffalo Law School Alumni Association, and in 2010 was awarded the Law School's Edwin F. Jaeckle Award. |
