| Steve Cohen joined Wachtell, Lipton in 1992 and became a partner in 2000. Steve practices corporate and securities law, concentrating on mergers and acquisitions. He has represented numerous public and private businesses in M&A and other reorganization transactions, both friendly and hostile, as well as a variety of entrepreneurs in establishing and growing new businesses. Steve has also been involved with a variety of restructurings within the insolvency process, including acquisitions in bankruptcy and workout process and the resolution of insolvent estates.
Steve graduated from Columbia College in 1988 and received a J.D./M.B.A. from the Columbia University School of Law/Columbia Business School in 1992.
Steve is an active member of the American Bar Association. He has spoken at the ALI-ABA seminar on Negotiating the M&A Deal, the Harvard Law School/Business School Symposium on Negotiations and the New York Law Journal Seminar "Negotiating Corporate Acquisitions - Public and Private". Steve has also published numerous articles in the areas of mergers and acquisitions and securities law. |
